Celebration of
Festivals
Major festivals are also celebrated at
Sandeepany throughout the year, with pujas conducted by Pandit
Ravichandran. Some of the festivals celebrated are Shivaratri,
Swami Chinmayananda's Birthday, Ramanavami, Krishna
Janmashtami, Guru Purnima, Navaratri, Deepavali, Gita Jayanti
and Tapovanam Day. On the second Monday of every month, Shiva
Abhisheka and puja are conducted by Subbu Venkatakrishnan, an
ardent devotee and an Executive Committee member of Chinmaya
Mission San Jose. These functions are open to public. For

Pujas
Chinmaya
Mission San Jose conducts pujas on auspicious occasions such
as Maha Shiva Ratri, Shri Rama Navami, Janmashtami and
Navaratri. The following are some of the most popular
pujas conducted at Sandeepany San Jose:
Maha Shiva
Ratri Puja
On Maha Shiva
Ratri, an elaborate puja and abhishekam are performed for Lord
Shiva.
Lalita
Sahasranama Archana
On the last
Friday of Navaratri, a special Lalita Sahasranama Archana is
performed. Over 100 people participate in the puja, making it
a Laksharchana.
Monthly Shiva
Pooja
On the second
Monday of every month, a puja and abhishekam are peformed for
Lord Shiva at the Sandeepany San Jose Shrine of Lord
Shiva. Each month, a devotee and family sponsor the puja
and perform the puja and abhishekam with guidance from Subbu
Venkatkrishnan, a devotee who is trained in pujas and rituals.
